OUR MISSION

Earthly Ideas LLC is dedicated to supporting project teams with the information, resources, and skills needed to produce high performance facilities. Through our efforts, we hope to redirect development towards environmental stewardship and sustainability.

FIRM OVERVIEW

Since 1992, building owners, architects, and construction managers have hired Earthly Ideas LLC to contribute to the design and construction of high performance buildings. To guide our clients, we draw upon our outstanding organizational skills and years of experience in the sustainable development field to identify and implement the most effective strategies. We have experience in a diversity of building types, including office, museum, library, university, K-12 school, cultural, mixed-use, institutional, and industrial developments. MICHELLE REOTT - (resume)

Michelle ReottMichelle is Managing Principal of Earthly Ideas LLC and started the company in 1992 when "thinking green" was an idea whose time had not yet come. Through persistence and perseverance, she helped transform the city of Austin, Texas into a hotbed for sustainable building and environmentally sound construction.

In 2001, she relocated the business to its current location in Durango, Colorado and earned designation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Today Michelle continues to work on sustainable development and LEED projects across the country. In addition, she is a faculty member of the Boston Architectural College’s Sustainable Design Certificate Program.

An aerospace engineer by education, Michelle's dreams of becoming a space explorer have been put on hold while she endeavors to help ensure the viability of her current spaceship and its inhabitants.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • In 2006, Michelle Reott received the Boomerang Award from the Durango Discovery Museum for her many years of dedicated service to the project.

  • Michelle Reott was featured on the 2006 award winning documentary Building for the 7th Generation that was produced by the City of Durango and Exposure Productions.

  • In 2001, Michelle earned designation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) – one of the first 400 in the world. Please click here to read more about LEED.
